Cat Morgan

Field Manager/ GIS Officer

Cat has been a member of the GJCRM team since late 2017, having worked as an archaeologist, heritage consultant and GIS officer in Western Australia since mid-2009. She has contributed to a number of cultural heritage surveys in the Pilbara and her roles have involved liaising with traditional Indigenous land owners and proponent clients as well as identifying and recording archaeological material. In addition to her experience in carrying out surveys Cat has also undertaken excavations in the Pilbara, southwest and south coast regions of Western Australia. Cat is also the dedicated GIS officer for GJCRM. She manages the spatial database, day-to-day GIS tasks such as map production, client deliverables, digital site plans and PDA maintenance.  

Cat has had several years’ experience in community archaeology through the southwest, south-coast and Pilbara region of Western Australia. Cat has managed archaeological surveys, authored and co-authored many heritage survey reports and managed GIS mapping and data for heritage and natural resource management projects across the state. Cat has also volunteered on excavations in Scotland and Israel in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
