Scholarships

Gavin Jackson Cultural Resource Management Honours Scholarship in Indigenous Archaeology

Gavin Jackson Cultural Resource Management (Gavin Jackson CRM) donates funds annually to provide a scholarship to encourage students to undertake an Honours degree course at The University of Western Australia (UWA) relevant to Australian Indigenous Archaeology. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist and encourage eligible full-time students who have achieved academic excellence in an undergraduate pass degree course to undertake an Honours course with a research project relevant to Australian Indigenous Archaeology at UWA.

The recipient that is awarded the scholarship is entitled to $6,000 per annum that is paid in semester instalments. It is awarded based on academic achievement. For further information regarding the scholarship visit the UWA scholarships website.

Previous Recipients:

  • The 2012 recipient of the scholarship was Jamie Twaddle.
  • The 2013 recipient of the scholarship was Nathasha Busher.
  • The 2014 recipient of the scholarship is Ms India Dilkes-Hall. We wish India every success with her studies this year.

Sponsorships/Donations

Australian Archaeological Association (AAA)

Gavin Jackson CRM has been a sponsor of the Australian Archaeological Association conference since 2011. We have sent delegates to conferences in Toowoomba, Wollongong, Coffs Harbour, Cairns and Auckland.

 


Roebourne Senior High School

Gavin Jackson CRM has been supporting the Roebourne Senior High School over a period of time through donations supporting the school programms for schook sport, cultural excursions and iPads to bridge language gaps.

 

Chevron City to Surf Perth

Since 2010 Gavin Jackson CRM has entered teams to participate in this annual event. We have seen many staff, friends and family join the GJCRM team with an increasing number of them running the half marathon.
One of the charities that we have supported in the past from our fund raising for this event is the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.

 

HBF Run for a Reason

In recent years Gavin Jackson CRM staff members have used this 14km fun run around Perth and through the Northbridge tunnel as a good training session for the Chevron City to Surf. Individuals that participate in this event select their own charities to fundraise for, through the Everyday Hero supporters.

 

Participation Events

Gavin Jackson CRM staff members and their friends and family also participate in the following events, Freo Fun Run, Freeway Bike Hike and the Bridges Fun Run. The team at Gavin Jackson CRM are always keen to participate in community events such as these.

 

Save the children

Gavin Jackson CRM has been a long-time supporter of Save the Children. Gavin Jackson CRM makes annual donations to this charity, whose vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
